Luxury Unit

GK Unit.HEIC

This project was for a regular client of ours, the works consisted of renovating a new industrial unit into a personal car storage unit with a small living area as an office space.

This install was very bespoke due to the raw construction.

After going through the design stage with the client he explained how he wanted to keep the exposed steel works and didn't want to install any plaster board, meaning we would have to come up with a way of lighting up the area completely different to a standard project.

He explained he didn't want any commercial lighting installed but something very bespoke and unique. After exploring the market we found the answer. We found using high output LED Tape in surface aluminium profile, it would create the light he was looking for.

We had used a lot of this product on other projects but never for a main lighting source. He wanted colour changing lighting to suit his mood. A luxury German kitchen was supplied by Simply Kitchens to tie the project together.

On the ground floor the client wanted to use the space as a car storage unit/valeting bay.

He didn't want the regularly used high powered down lights, so we explored a new LED tape profile that had just come onto the market. A plastered in profile to give it that seamless finish. We also had to to install an electric heating system to keep the air temperature to a minimum of 8 degrees to protect the cars.

Unit 2 was an open unit, more commercial. We installed a plastic trunking/conduit system to cater for the 240v install and to give flexibility in the future.

The plastic containment incorporated his heating system, camera system, intruder alarm and lighting system. We used punchy high bay LED light fittings to give the client around 1000 lux of light, so he could clean his cars precisely and professionally.
